General Astrological Influences, February 2018: Be an Activist for Your Own Life Mission

Hold onto your seat—we are in a month of change. We move into February still on the portal of the January 31 Full Moon Eclipse, and approaching the Solar Eclipse New Moon of Friday, February 16. Eclipses trigger sudden movement forward in whatever direction we happen to be moving, or if we are stuck in inertia or addictive patterns, can lead to a bottom-out effect that pressures us to face the need for change.

Even as I write, MoveOn.org is transmitting their People’s State of the Union, and the Mexican media is covering the disappearance and beating of a teenage activist at the hands of police. (Likely due to this pressure, he has since been released.)

Come May, Uranus will be finishing his mission in Aries to enter Taurus, sign of abundance and security. This month is a cosmic signpost that can help us release the weights around our ankles and reaffirm our true identity and direction while the activist planet is still campaigning for our right to be ourselves.

During the first two weeks of February, the portal of the recent Full Moon Eclipse in Leo blends with that of the mid-month’s New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aquarius. Leo is about our creative legacy, the work of self-expression that balances out Aquarius’ universal inspiration. These are the days to ask if our way of forming this legacy….
