*FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1

We are in the midst of planting the seeds of our powerful Plutonic New Moon in Virgo which occurred a few days ago. Events initiated now do, in fact, set the tone for the next two months. Early morning is energetic and companionable. At 8:23 a.m. Moon goes void of course until after midnight, when it enters Scorpio. Partnerships and teamwork are appealing, and it is a great day to level with someone--and to really listen to them. Power is in the air today and tomorrow, and with Sun in Virgo it can be the power of transformational improvement in some situation. Remember that unexpected events can occur during void of course Moon periods.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 2

Moon is in Scorpio, and the energy is powerful, probing, and intense. This is the time to initiate deep change. We can realize that old ways are not working, and that we need new and radical perspectives. No-holds-barred Mars in Leo wants to push ahead towards its ideals. We each have a strong need for control now, and power struggles are possible. Watch out for ruthlessness.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3

This morning Sun squares Chiron, to energize the maverick. We are very independent and highly energized, and at the same time filled with romantic and loving ideals. Sexual urges may be magnified. We can bring--or create--something beautiful in our lives now. And at the same time we can destroy something. Considered action is difficult now.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4

Whammy! Early this morning Jupiter has its first opposition to Pluto. The others occur on October 13 and on May 6, 2001. When an aspect is in effect over a period of time it indicates a particular situation which is unsettled during that period. Whatever is set in motion this weekend is not apt to be resolved until next May 6. At 10:08 a.m. Moon enters Sagittarius. We may have an obstacle in our path shortly after, but by noon the road clears and we are on our way to new adventures. This can be a lovely, dreamy afternoon and evening, filled with happy travels--before tomorrow's powerful Jupiter-Pluto reverberations.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 5

First Quarter Moon in Sagittarius occurs at 12:27 p.m. The First Quarter Moon always involves a challenge to action, and in meeting that challenge we make a breakthrough. Our new process, which has consumed us all week, finally gets moving. It is a very transformative Virgo process, concerned with health, work, refining our skills, or promoting our service. In some way we expand our outreach. Partnership is important in this process, and we are especially concerned with establishing harmonious strategic relationships.

*WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 6

Mars in Leo enthusiastically carries the banner for our new directions. Action is today's keynote. At 6:26 p.m. Moon goes void of course. The next few hours is a great time to wander, exercise, try a new restaurant, or cook some exotic food. When Moon enters Capricorn at 9:47 p.m., our sense of responsibility kicks in.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7

Business and image have the floor today. We want everything to be professional and appear perfect. This is a good day for business contacts or, alternatively, our need to attend to business could interfere with our desires for pleasure. The trick is to combine purpose with beauty. Look for a surprise.

*FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 8

Moon is void of course in Capricorn for the entire day, but at the same time we have three major planetary aspects. This could be considered a day of destiny, where purpose, perhaps surprising, manifests through special events as the day unfolds. Work can be greatly facilitated. Opportunity for lasting growth knocks today, and this process continues for the next three days. Plan a special weekend.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9

Moon enters Aquarius at 10:44 a.m. Group get-togethers are favored, along with lively discussions of the state of the world. A far-out, stimulating movie or video would fit tonight's mood.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10

Moon continues in friendly Aquarius, with brisk aspects. Loving and mentally stimulating connections are favored this morning. By evening there may be a desire for independence and solitude.

*MONDAY SEPTEMBER 11

This is a high energy day, and we want to work on our special things. Mars in Leo is primed for action, perhaps in some way which helps people. At 4:09 p.m. Moon goes void of course, and the rest of the day is up for grabs and surprises.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 12

Moon is in psychic Pisces, tomorrow's Full Moon sign. This could be a difficult day; all of our power buttons set off earlier in the month are pushed again, and amplified by the Full Moon. In addition, Saturn turns retrograde today and all Saturnian matters are emphasized. Those include all responsibilities, ambitions, and structures. It's important to stay clear and centered today. When our psychic channels are wide open, as now, it's easy to misinterpret events.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 13

Full Moon at 22 degrees Pisces occurs at 3:37 p.m. This is the Harvest Moon, that Full Moon closest to the equinox.

The Virgo New Moon is about doing things right, paying attention to details, and taking care of ourselves and others in practical ways. Pisces Full Moon broadens our vision to taking care of the world. In Virgo we separate out what is relevant; we sort the wheat from the chaff. In Pisces we put it all back together and throw it in one pot of unconditional love. We are all God/Goddess' beautiful creations.

This is the day that the Palestinians plan to declare their state. Saturn rules the skies now, and Saturn is associated with both government and land. It brings with it responsibility, cares, seriousness, and endurance. It shapes, perfects, limits, and deepens. Saturn says that the Palestinian state means business, and is willing to endure hardship to establish itself.

Saturn is a reality principle. It is now in the first degree of Gemini, the sign of communication. The focus is on interconnections and information. The Virgo-Pisces energy field is one which encourages service of all kinds-- personal and universal, practical and spiritual. During these Saturn-retrograde months, from now until next January 25, we will be reshaping our communications and connections to make them deeper, as well as more practical and useful, more geared to real problem-solving.

Mars today is in late Leo, stimulating the Solar Eclipses of August 22, 1998, and February 16, 1999. Mars at this degree also begins a new Mars cycle for Israel.

The Sabian Symbol for 22 Pisces is "A PROPHET CARRYING TABLETS OF THE NEW LAW IS WALKING DOWN THE SLOPES OF MOUNT SINAI." (Wow!) The need to bring down to the level of everyday existence the clear realizations made manifest in a great "peak experience." This symbol refers to Moses after he received from the God of his people the basic principles upon which a new religion, and even more a new ritual of living, should be founded. This basic "Law" has to be "brought down." It represents a descent of formative and structuring power, a divine Revelation. The keyword is MANDATE."

This is perfect. Saturn in Gemini grounds and structures information. Saturn is The Law. Pisces Moon adds the quality of spiritual vision.

Energy is concentrated in the Mideast and Far East now. Mercury through Mexico and through India shows that news will come from those countries.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 14 & FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 15

Moon is in pioneering Aries with deeply constructive aspects. Something new is pushing through, and it is moving along quickly and easily. These are two very active and exciting days. For the next week issues of safety and security are at the forefront. Watch the stock market.

September 14 is the World Day of Prayer Affirmation: "Centered in your presence, God/Goddess, I join my spiritual family in a prayerful partnership that blesses the world." Thursday is Jupiter's Day. With Jupiter now prominent in Gemini, prayers--just like words and thoughts--will travel through the airwaves with the blessings of the angels.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 16

Morning continues in yesterday's action mode. At 3:05 p.m. Moon enters Taurus, and feelings of insecurity and possessiveness begin to creep in. Work with your fears for the next few days. Tonight Mars enters Virgo to begin preparing for a showdown with Saturn on Monday. Replace apprehension with constructive channeling of energy. Construction is, in fact, one of Saturn's favorite activities.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 17

Feelings of stubborn independence plus insecurity may lead to rash action. Be active this weekend, perhaps hiking in nature, working in the garden, or involved in a construction project.

*MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18

Moon remains in earth-centered Taurus, and is void of course after 1:31 p.m. Money, possessions, resources, and land are concerns. What shifts in values are being asked of us now? During this time Mars squares Saturn, jolting the Law-maker in new directions. This is the first challenge of a cycle which began last April 15 when investors began to dump technology stocks, and Washington saw street protests against IMF and the World Bank. Prime Minister Barak of Israel outlined his new peace proposal then. Israel and Seattle are both prime locations for this active square, where Saturn's tendency to preserve the status quo is challenged. Check your own diary for April 15 and the week following as an indication of where your breakthroughs are now.

Moon enters Gemini at 8:22 p.m., and tonight our logic and emotions are tied together in this new development.

TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 19

Moon in Gemini sets off all of these months' major energies. Our spirited and airy transformative process moves right along, with the fleet-footed messenger in charge. Speak your piece! Make connections now!

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 20

Yesterday's lively energy continues with Gemini Moon. Today is more personal, and we speak up to take care of ourselves. Last Quarter Moon at 29 Gemini occurs at 9:28 p.m. We begin now to release, particularly letting go of old judgments about the "right" way to handle resources. Three of the four mutable signs--Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius--dominate the heavens now, and the fourth--Pisces--was filled by the last Full Moon, with which we're still working. Mutable signs are flexible, versatile, and ready to apply themselves where the need is greatest. They work with the subtle energies, and particularly activate the mental and spiritual realms. Mutable signs also stimulate our nervous energy, and can overload our nervous systems. Burnout and physical symptoms can result. It is important during these entire two months to make time for solitude, contemplation, and meditation--time to still our minds.

During the next week we can do an enormous amount of letting go, particularly of old ideas and principles which no longer serve. We are also in the orb of the Equinox, a power period.

Neptune is above Washington now, and the healing power of unconditional love can sweep the nation, and the world.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 21

Moon is in sensitive Cancer, and home and family are on our minds as we move into Equinox. We want to tend to our own hearth.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 22

Autumn Equinox, when the Sun enters the sign of Libra, occurs at 1:28 p.m. For an instant we are in balance with equal days and nights, a moment which Libra carries forever as its ideal. Now begins our seasonal descent into the dark, in the northern hemisphere, and ascent into the light in the southern hemisphere. Which way shall Libra move? It can't sit still. I consider Libra the most difficult sign in the zodiac, for things are never in balance except for a fleeting instant. Libra is the greatest idealist. Perhaps it is because those fleeting moments remind it of its possibilities.

The chart set for this time carries us through the fall season.

This is a creative, talky chart, with 7 of the 10 major planets in flowing air signs. The moving modes of cardinal and mutable dominate now. Whereas for two years we had mostly fixed signs, which stubbornly resist change, now we have irresistible change. The major changes will be in the airy realms of ideas, philosophies, and groupings of people. Jupiter opposing the Chiron-Pluto conjunction, as discussed in the introduction, have center stage. Powerful groups and transformative ideas will dominate the airwaves. Radical thinking will have its place in the sun. Both Libra and Aquarius will call for justice and equality, and Gemini will provide the rationale to support those movements for human dignity. Many voices will be heard.

Moon is in Cancer conjunct the North Node of the Moon, opposing Vesta and South Node in Capricorn. This opposition is much like the Lunar Eclipse of July 16. (See the July-August Daykeeper.) Oppositions often indicate opposing views or groups, but also show the potential for reconciling conflicts. Cancer-Capricorn is the business-family axis, and the kind of security which they provide will be focal areas. To this we add a powerful Libran voice, making a strong call for justice. Financial balancing is another aspect of this configuration.

The prominent Jupiter-Pluto opposition runs through Mexico City, eastern U.S., and Moscow.

Prominent asteroids show the importance of women and of traditional women's concerns.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 23

Moon is in pleasure-loving Leo, and generosity and enthusiasm reign. At the same time, Sun connects with Saturn to add an air of sobriety and purpose to the day. Needs for romance and recognition are strong, as well as creative planning. Today and tomorrow are exceptionally visionary. Pay attention to the images which come to you, and use them constructively.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24

Moon continues travelling through Leo, but with much more solitary energy than yesterday. About noon Venus enters Scorpio, and feelings of jealousy or rivalry may pick at us. Bring up any negative feelings concerning relationships, for this is a fine time to talk about and clear them. Avoid getting hooked on ego positions. Remember that this is balsamic moon release time, when we surrender ourselves to the universe.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 25

Moon in Virgo restimulates the high-vibration mutable T-square. Pay extra attention to your health today and tomorrow. Work on centering and creating peace for yourself and others. Insist on time alone. Feelings will be intense tonight.

*TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 26

Moon is void of course in Virgo for the entire day, and relaxation will be easier than it was yesterday. Try brainstorming on problem-solving for the future. Neptune and Sun meet today to bring visions of new ideals--just in time for New Moon tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 27

New Moon at exactly 5 degrees of Libra occurs at 3:53 p.m. EDT. This next month we focus on balancing the forces within and around us. These forces come not only in dualities, but interconnected and continually balancing and rebalancing among themselves. Thus Libra needs to constantly synthesize, to create harmonious wholes. I think of a string orchestra, making beautiful music.

Libra uses others as mirrors for this balancing process, and thus one-to-one partnership is the best outlet for Libra energy. Libra will be acutely aware of imbalances in partnerships, and will struggle for fairness and equality. Creating justice and harmony are goals now. This is the season for mediation and negotiation, for listening to others and speaking your own truth, then seeking compromise, and for co-operative working relationships. Pres. Clinton has Libra rising, Pres. Carter is a Libra Sun sign.

Chiron-Pluto opposing Jupiter is featured in every chart for this two-month period. Now Jupiter stands out, for it is stationary in the heavens, ready to turn retrograde in two days. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and in Gemini it expands information and communication. Teaching and speaking about critical issues will be emphasized. These are life and death issues regarding technology, science, and health. Moral questions are foremost. Libra has a very big job. Life, in fact, hangs in the balance now. Venus in Scorpio squares Neptune in Aquarius, and the struggle is between greed and possessiveness and lofty ideals. The United States is a major forum for Libra's balancing work.

The Sabian Symbol for 6 Libra (Sun has entered the sixth degree of Libra.) is "A MAN WATCHES HIS IDEALS TAKING A CONCRETE FORM BEFORE HIS INNER VISION. The need to visualize clearly one's dreams or ideals in order to make them truly effectual. INTERIOR FORMULATION in preparation for a creative projection of one's ideals or concepts."

The New Moon with Jupiter runs along the U.S. West Coast. Again, Seattle is prominent. Moscow, Israel, and all of the Far East also stand out. Italy and central Africa are other hot spots, and newsy Mercury runs again through Mexico City and India.

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 28

Moon is in sociable Libra for the entire day, but goes VOC at 12.57 p.m. EDT. This morning Mercury enters Scorpio to intensify our thinking. Mercury in Scorpio is excellent at unearthing secrets, as well as keeping them. For Mercury in Scorpio everything can be seen in terms of crisis. Aspects today are expansive, and we may want to share our deepest selves with someone.

Vesta in Capricorn exactly conjoins the South Node of the Moon. This is also the south node of Pluto, and indicates transformation of security structures. At South Node we release a habit or attitude which we no longer need.

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29

Early this morning, Jupiter turns retrograde under a VOC Libra Moon. When planets move retrograde, we turn inside, to our own unique way of handling their energies. Jupiter is associated with our beliefs, philosophies, and general understanding of life. When Jupiter is direct, we want to join with others who share our beliefs or values, as in religion or a sports team. When Jupiter is travelling retrograde, we become loners, perhaps mavericks, in regard to our philosophies. The next four months will be a time of separating rather than joining, of declaring ourselves rather than following the leader. We have a very great deal to digest now, and we will find our own way to sorting it out.

Saturn and Jupiter are both now retrograde for the next few months. They are our major work and career planets, so it's time to pull back and correct and adjust course.

Vesta exactly conjoins South Node of the Moon in Capricorn. South nodes are release points, and it is time to let go of some security. Pluto is also involved, and this action may be cathartic.
