DECEMBER 2005 RETROGRADE WATCH  by Maya del Mar The three planets which change direction in December are, unusually, all personal planets, i.e., they noticeably impact our personal lives. Green lights begin the month of December, with Mercury turning direct on December 3, and Mars finally turning direct on December 9. Mercury turns direct at 25 Scorpio, exactly sextile Venus in Capricorn. This combination gives us a strong drive to pursue what we want, and the confidence to be successful despite difficulties. The timing is excellent, in sync with the Sagittarius New Moon, where we begin to manifest our dreams and visions. Also at this moment, we are in touch with the grand fixed cross—which is our working tool for this next year. We combine vision and manifesting—now—for the entire next year! Pluto is also part of the action now, and this means that we can truly transform our lives. Go for it! Mars turns direct on December 9 at 9 Taurus, opposing Jupiter in Taurus, square Neptune in Aquarius, and square Saturn in Leo. The grand fixed square is now on the march. Can you feel that big energy being released? Mars will be lending its strong Taurean motive power to this square through January. And—during January—we experience Venus retrograde. This will be a most unusual Christmas. Venus stations and turns retrograde on Christmas Eve day, at 2 Aquarius, exactly conjunct Chiron. Either moving into the freedom-loving sign of Aquarius, or conjoining Maverick Chiron, is a big move for Venus. Put them both together, and it’s like blasting off in a space capsule. Venus apparently has second thoughts about her new adventures, and needs to turn back and gather more information. She goes way back into Capricorn, the sign of tradition. Family, old friends, and familiar situations will come into our lives during this retrograde Venus time.
